Description

What type of wine it is

Magred by Nals Margreid is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes from Alto Adige, classified as Südtirol - Alto Adige. It is crafted with precision, featuring gentle pressing and fermentation in wooden barrels, followed by aging on fine lees. The sip is fresh and broad, with good structure and persistence, maintaining aromatic clarity and integrity: a balanced Chardonnay, designed for the table thanks to its well-integrated softness and gustative tension.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from vineyards located in Magrè, at the foot of a gentle slope between 220 and 350 meters above sea level, with south and southeast exposures. The white soil of calcareous gravel, rich in humus, promotes regular growth and even ripening. The Mediterranean-influenced climate, with warm summers and mild winds from Lake Garda, supports optimal maturation and preserves freshness and aromatic definition.

How it is produced

The Chardonnay is harvested by hand and gently pressed to obtain a clean must. Fermentation lasts about three weeks in wooden barrels, a choice that supports the development of structure without altering the varietal character. After fermentation, the wine ages on its fine lees for about eight months, enhancing complexity and mouthfeel while sustaining aromatic qualities.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows an intense straw yellow color with good density. The bouquet is clean and precise, with hints of pineapple, melon, and passion fruit, complemented by a delicate note of mountain herbs. On the palate, the attack is fresh and the progression broad, with well-integrated softness; the finish is consistent and persistent.

Food pairings

At the table, it enhances seafood dishes where flavor and delicacy matter, thanks to its freshness, breadth, and good persistence. It naturally pairs with spaghetti with clams and swordfish tortelli, where the wine accompanies the taste without overshadowing the fish component.

When to serve

It is a white wine suited to convivial moments and seafood lunches, when you want a fresh but substantial glass, capable of accompanying richer recipes. It is best enjoyed when the aromatic components are clear, with tropical fruit and vegetal notes standing out, and a broad, smooth mouthfeel supported by barrel aging and maturation on fine lees.
