Description

The Alto Adige Lagrein of Castel Sallegg was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Caldaro, in the province of Bolzano.

It is produced entirely with Lagrein grapes, carefully picked and selected by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for about 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 6 months in steel barrels, before being bottled.

The Lagrein of Castel Sallegg has a deep purple red color with purple reflections. The nose opens with evident aromas of black currant and plum jam, enriched with pleasant notes of elderberry and licorice. On the palate it has a good structure, with soft tannins and delicate fruity notes on the finish.

This red wine is perfect to accompany both white and red stews and grilled meats.
