Description
The Toscana Rosso Crognolo from Tenuta Sette Ponti is produced in Castiglion Fibocchi, in the province of Arezzo, from vineyards located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level and about 30 years old.
It is mainly made from Sangiovese grapes with a small proportion of Merlot. The must ferments and macerates on the skins for 20 days. This is followed by an aging period of 14 months in French oak barriques and an additional 5-6 months in the bottle before being released to the market.
With a ruby red color, Crognolo offers an intense fruity aroma on the nose, accompanied by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is round and well-balanced, with hints of ripe cherry and wild berries.
It pairs excellently with fine meats, game, and braised red meats.
