Description

What kind of wine is it

Toscana Rosso Tassinaia di Castello del Terriccio is a red wine with a complex and harmonious profile, made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It displays an elegant style and a well-defined structure, with an intense purple color. Fermentation takes place at 29°C for one week, and aging for 16-18 months in tonneaux provides a balance between freshness and integrated tannins, making the wine suitable even for mid-term aging.

Where does it come from

It originates on the Tuscan hills of Castello del Terriccio, in a region with a distinctive and historically rich terroir. Its connection to the ancient medieval castle adds to the identity of this wine.

How is it produced

Harvest takes place between the end of August and the third week of September. After destemming and gentle pressing, fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 29°C for one week, followed by approximately 14 days of maceration on the skins. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 16-18 months before bottling.

Tasting notes

To the eye, Tassinaia reveals an intense purple-red color with violet highlights. On the nose, ripe wild berries and hints of tobacco emerge. The palate is full and enveloping, with silky tannins and lively acidity that bring freshness. The finish is persistent and harmonious.

What to pair it with

Tassinaia pairs well with grilled red meats and game, enhancing its structure. It is also ideal with aged cheeses. Pairings with typical Tuscan dishes are general suggestions to highlight its characteristics.

When to serve it

Thanks to its solid structure and refined tannic profile, Tassinaia is best served at room temperature. Its structure allows for good evolution potential in the bottle.
