Description

The red Vas of Villa a Sesta comes from the best vineyard located in Casanova on the Sienese hills, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga.

It is produced with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested manually, then de-stemmed, crushed and placed separately in thermoregulated truncated conical vats for vinification. The alcoholic fermentation takes place for over two weeks. Once blended, the wine ages in tonneaux and barriques for 12 months and then for 12 months in 30 hl barrels. Once in the bottle, it ages for a further 12 months.

Deep ruby red in colour, the nose reveals balsamic and spicy aromas of cocoa, pepper, red fruit, licorice and cinnamon. The sip is full, intense and with juicy tannins.

Ideal to accompany important game dishes and stewed red meats.
