Toscana IGT Torre di Ciardo 2013 Marchesi Torrigiani
Description
Torre di Ciardo wine was born in the vineyards of Monastero and Fornace of the Marchesi Torrigiani company, in the province of Florence.
It is produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Merlot grapes, harvested by hand and selected with particular care. The vinification process is carried out in cement tanks, and then passes, in the evolutionary phase, in 225 L oak barrels for over 12 months. Followed by refinement of about 8 months in bottle.
Torre di Ciardo is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose is a wine of good complexity, with strong spicy hints of pepper, vanilla and licorice, elegantly accompanied by notes of black berry fruit. In the mouth it shows a full body, with delicate hints of boisè derived from the aging in cask. The finish is persistent and very pleasant, thanks to soft tannins that blend elegantly with the flavors.
Perfect in combination with meat sauce, this wine goes very well with important dishes based on red meat, cold cuts and aged cheeses.
