Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore Pojega 2015 Guerrieri Rizzardi
Description
Guerrieri Rizzardi's Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Pojega was born in the thirty-year-old vineyards adjacent to Villa Rizzardi in Pojega, in the Veneto region.
Produced with Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Merlot grapes, it is vinified with the application of the practice of "ripasso", or with a second fermentation of the wine on the fermented pomace of Amarone after racking off the latter. Pojega ferments for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ° C after which it ages in Croatian and French oak barrels for at least 12 months before being bottled.
Wine very rich in perfumes, opens to the nose with hints of red fruits and pleasant notes of leather and grass. In the mouth it is dense, soft and round, with a long and fruity finish.
Perfect in combination with red meats and game, it is excellent to accompany large stuffed roasts and meat tartare.
