Valpolicella Ripasso DOC 2015 Astoria
Description
Ripasso di Astoria comes from suitable vineyards located within the renowned area of Valpolicella.
It is the result of a skilful blend of Corvinone, Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes, harvested by hand in small baskets. Fermentation takes place traditionally in red with maceration in contact with the skins for 10-15 days. After a short passage in steel, the wine referments on the Amarone pomace for about 10 days, then ages for about 12 months in oak barrels and further in the bottle before being placed on the market.
It has an intense ruby red color, with garnet reflections. The nose turns out to be broad and intense, with elegant aromas of ripe cherry and spices. The taste is dry and harmonious, with a good structure.
Perfect in the company of aged cheeses, it offers the best of itself in combination with risotto or a platter of cold cuts.
