Description

Carat comes from vineyards located in the Collio Friulano area, known for its extraordinary vocation to give whites of incomparable finesse and elegance.

It consists of a blend of indigenous varieties: Tocai Friulano - or simply called Friulano - Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla. The vineyards from which these grapes are obtained are defined by a mainly clayey soil, with abundant presence of schistose limestone marl and sandstone. The harvest is done manually in the late epoch. The fermentation of the must has a rather long duration and is followed by an initial phase of aging of the wine on its fermentation yeasts for about a year. Once the lees are removed, the wine continues its maturation process for another 2 - 3 months, divided into barriques and oak barrels as in the previous phase. A final period of rest in the bottle makes it ready for marketing.

At sight it is straw yellow. The bouquet is fruity and refers to notes of apricot, peach, melon and honey, inserted in an almondy trail that emerges in the background. The taste is balanced and has a full body, finished by a suggestive and characteristic flavor.

Perfect with fish dishes such as grilled scampi.
