Description
The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso of Tenuta Sant'Helena is a red wine that comes from vineyards located in the Collio area of Gorizia.
It is made from 100% Refosco grapes, harvested manually and of which 20%, once in the cellar, is first partially dried for 8 weeks. The vinification takes place with immersed cap maceration for 25 days, after which the wine obtained is aged for about 18 months in 30-60 hl Allier and Slavonian oak casks.
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections, the nose recalls aromas of ripe red fruits and spices. The taste is full-bodied, tannic and of good persistence.
It goes perfectly with red meats and game both stewed and grilled.
