Description
Fresco di Masi is a Verona Rosso produced from vineyards located in Zuane di Rivoli Veronese, on basaltic soils that are rich in structure and stone, influenced by cool breezes from the Adige Valley that create a healthy environment for the vines. It is crafted from a blend of Corvina and Merlot and represents a sustainable viticulture that minimizes human intervention, enhancing natural character, freshness, and drinkability.
The winemaking process involves hand-picking the grapes in the morning, followed by destemming and pressing, then hyperoxygenation of the must and natural clarification at a low temperature. Fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts, with subsequent racking and natural stabilization, while aging takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with no filtration or wood aging, preserving an authentic style that respects the raw material.
In the glass, it shows a bright, light cherry-red color; on the nose, fresh and immediate notes of cherry and small red fruits emerge, while on the palate it is lively, linear, and pleasantly fruity, supported by a good acidity that enhances its drinkability and lightness, with a simple but balanced and satisfying profile.
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with simple Mediterranean cuisine, such as light pasta dishes, vegetarian preparations, and platters of cold cuts and cheeses.
