Description
The Pinot Noir Avni is an elegant red wine produced by Lingua Franca in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, where the terroir of individual plots and organic regenerative farming determine its character. It is made from grapes sourced partly from the company itself and partly from selected vineyards near the Eola-Amity Hills, South Salem Hills, and Yamhill-Carlton, for a profile that fully reflects regional typicity.
The grapes are hand-harvested, selected, destemmed (with 10% left as whole clusters), and spontaneously fermented in steel and concrete vats. Aging occurs for 12 months in French oak barrels and subsequently for another 4 months in tank for the final blend before bottling.
In the glass, it shows a balance between concentration and harmony, with a velvety texture. Dominant are red fruits, including black cherry and spices, accompanied by hints of black tea, fresh herbs, and rose petals, with a round and persistent finish.
It pairs perfectly with warm smoked salmon, roasted white meats, and also grilled meats.
