Il Borro lies in a valley situated between the Pratomagno and the Chianti hills, and is a state-of-the-art, fully organic and eco-sustainable estate, also employing biodynamic practices.
In the vineyards between 350 and 500 m a.s.l., where mild winters and an ideal exposure combine with soils rich in marine fossils, native varieties such as Sangiovese, as well as varieties that have become part of the Tuscan tradition such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, coexist today, expressing their qualities to the fullest.
From hand-harvested grapes and berries selected with an optical sorter, and through vinification and aging in oak barrels on a per-vineyard or parcel basis, fine wines are produced such as Il Borro Toscana IGT, velvety and almost opulent thanks to 18 months of maturation, Sangiovese Polissena, a masterful example of pure Sangiovese, and Sangiovese Petruna, fermented and macerated in amphora to convey all the character of this Tuscan red.
