Aglianico is an extremely ancient red grapevariety widespread mainly in the area of Mount Vulture in Basilicata, and Taburno in Campania. It is the grape with which the prized Taurasi wine is produced.

It is a late-maturing variety from which wines with a very mineral, fruity flavor and great structure originate. The rich presence of tannins and the great acidity of Aglianico make it a wine with a great ageing potential and a generous and austere personality.
