Santadi
The Santadi winery was founded in 1960 by a group of grape producers , coordinated by the Agency for Land and Agricultural Transformation in Sardinia, with the aim of transforming the grapes in an associated form and selling the wine obtained. The location is in Santadi, a south-western area of Sardinia, in the heart of Sulcis .
Until the 1980s, the activity was limited to the production and sale of bulk wine, with timid initiatives to sell bottled wine, with poor results. The turning point came in the mid-seventies . The recently deceased Giacomo Tachis , called in as a consultant, takes the fate of the Santadi winery to heart , becomes fond of the territory, and with his intervention the wines of the Santadi winery make a leap in quality , so much so that they are immediately accepted in the markets most important, with recognitions of great quality and strong identity. From then to now it has been a continuous crescendo.
