For Vino.com, the Appellation of the year is Trentodoc. This prestigious denomination from Trentino identifies classic method sparkling wines produced exclusively in the mountainous territory of the province of Trento from grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Meunier.
The magic of Trentodoc is born from the meeting of suitable grape varieties, high altitudes, significant temperature variations, and a well-established tradition in bottle fermentation sparkling wine production. The climatic conditions and mineral-rich soils allow for the creation of wines with great finesse, freshness, and longevity.
The result is sparkling wines with a fine and persistent perlage, exhibiting elegant aromas of citrus, apple, white flowers, bread crust, and mineral notes. On the palate, they show balance, structure, and a vibrant energy that makes them ideal for refined aperitifs, seafood dishes, shellfish, white meats, and even aged cheeses. Their gastronomic versatility is one of the most beloved strengths by enthusiasts.
The main types of Trentodoc denomination:
