Franciacorta

Franciacorta, a land of wine excellence for the production of sparkling wines, saw the birth in 1995 of the prestigious DOCG Franciacorta, a real milestone that made the name Franciacorta synonymous with wine and an extremely high quality production method.

The Franciacorta DOCG denomination includes, in fact, a selection of sparkling wines referenced in the bottle according to the classic method , which offer a unique experience: Franciacorta DOCG, Franciacorta DOCG Satèn, Franciacorta DOCG rosé, Franciacorta DOCG vintage, Franciacorta DOCG reserve.

The sparkling wines are obtained exclusively from the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Erbamat vines, which give them extraordinary complexity and harmony. In the rosé version, at least 25% Pinot Noir adds a seductive note to the glass, while Satèn conquers the palate with its purity obtained only from white grapes (excluding Erbamat) and its creaminess.

To ensure the highest quality, the vintages are made using at least 85% grapes from the vintage indicated on the label. Each sparkling wine undergoes a long period of aging on the lees : 18 months for the basic version, 24 months for the Rosé and the Satèn, 30 months for the vintages and even 60 months for the reserves. This patient waiting translates into a unique complexity of aromas and creaminess.

The different types of Franciacorta are characterized by the different quantity of dosing syrup added after disgorgement. Depending on the amount of residual sugar, the different types of Franciacorta are obtained:

Dosage Zero : Sugar up to 3 g/l
Extra Brut : Sugar less than 6 g/l
Brut: Sugar less than 12 g/l
Extra Dry : Sugar 12-17 g/l
Sec or Dry : Sugar 17-32 g/l
Demi Sec : Sugar 33-50 g/l
