Giulio Ferrari

The Giulio Ferrari is a Trentodoc obtained from Chardonnay grapes, the expression of the Maso Pianizza vineyard, on the slopes of the mountains that frame Trento. Icon par excellence of Italian bubbles is a champion capable of winning the challenge against time. It is produced only in the best vintages and ages on lees for over 10 years acquiring great complexity but at the same time maintaining balance, freshness and elegance. It is consecrated by an uninterrupted succession of prizes and awards in Italy, where it has won the "Three glasses" of the Gambero Rosso twenty times, and abroad, where it has obtained the highest scores of the most authoritative sector magazines including 98/100 from Decanter and 96/100 from Wine Advocate. The Giulio Ferrari is also the only sparkling wine selected by the Wine Spectator among the best 10 Italian wines, for the "Best of Italy Tasting" within the Wine Experience and was reported by Wine Enthusiast among the "Top 100 Wine Cellar Selection" .

Vintage 2005

2005 was a rather hot vintage, particularly in the summer, and characterized by pronounced temperature variations between day and night, excellent for a correct aromatic ripening of the grapes. The high altitude of the Maso Pianizza vineyard has allowed us to maintain the perfect health of the grapes without compromising their acidity. Chardonnay destined to become Giulio Ferrari, less abundant than the average of about 10%, has in fact presented an impeccable balance between acidity and sugars and a magnificent aromatic charge.

Extra Brut

Also for the 2005 vintage, characterized by a strong aromatic charge and great complexity, as already for 2004, we opted for an extremely reduced dosage, equal to 3 g / l which allows to classify it as Extra Brut. With this choice we want to enhance the great character of Maso Pianizza's mountain Chardonnay. The reduced dosage highlights the depth of taste, the persistence, the great freshness of this Trentodoc, which is extremely young despite the more than ten-year permanence on the lees.
