"Tango" was the nickname of Carlo Boatti , founder of Monsupello, who passed away in 2010 at the age of 77. That nickname, which he flaunted as a young man on his Lambretta, had been given to him as a dancer, but Carlo Boatti was above all a man who made the history of Oltrepò Pavese thanks to his wines, having transformed a small winery di Torricella Verzate in the most well-known Oltrepò brand of the Classic Method.
Since 1959, the year in which Boatti took over the family business, Monsupello has been awarded 112 gold medals in wine competitions and the wines of the company have earned 10 times the 3 glasses of the Gambero Rosso . The last one, this year, went to Brut Millesimato 2011.
