The rich heritage of native white grape varieties in the region does not end here. There are many other varieties that help to highlight the uniqueness of Campania from a winemaking perspective: just think of the Falanghina from the Sannio DOC, the Biancolella from the island of Ischia, or again, the Pallagrello Bianco delle Terre di Volturno, like the Caiatì by Michele Alois, 3 glasses Gambero Rosso in the 2014 vintage, grapes of great rarity and prestige.
A special mention should be made of all those wines made near Vesuvius, on volcanic soils of extraordinary fertility, to the extent that this part of the region is known as Campania Felix: among them, the Campi Flegrei IGT and the Lacryma Christi DOC, both characterized by a distinctive mineral component.
A true gem is the Asprinio, a grape variety cultivated using the “vine arbour” technique, which can grow up to 15 meters high. The wine obtained from this grape, distinguished by sharp acidity, is the ideal pairing for dishes based on mozzarella, such as pizza, caprese, or mozzarella in carrozza.
