The ampelographic basis of Monica di Sardegna DOC wine is set by the disciplinary in a minimum of 85% of monica. Other non-aromatic red grape varieties, suitable for cultivation in the Sardinia region, may possibly contribute, for a maximum of 15%. Monica di Sardegna Superiore wine cannot be released for consumption before 1 September of the year following the harvest.
