Description

Amaro Amara is a Sicilian artisanal amaro crafted at the foot of Mount Etna, embodying the island’s most authentic identity. It is produced in small batches using peels of Sicilian Blood Oranges IGP grown in the family’s citrus groves, combined with spring water from Etna and wild herbs from the local area. The result is a liqueur with a strong sense of place, natural, genuine, and deeply rooted in Sicilian agricultural tradition.

The production begins with the careful selection of oranges, peeled by hand one by one to best preserve their quality and aromatic integrity. The peels then undergo multiple infusions, repeated seven times, along with alcohol and wild herbs, slowly extracting fragrances and aromatic components. Completing the process is the addition of pure spring water sourced from Etna, which helps to define the product’s balance and unique character.

On the nose, it reveals intense citrus and orange blossom aromas, with a fresh and radiant profile that immediately evokes the Sicilian landscape. The palate stands out for its smooth and harmonious character, where the citrus sweetness of the orange peels intertwines with herbal notes and a pleasant bitter streak. The finish is harmonious, lingering, and leaves an enveloping, elegant, and memorable sensation.

Perfect for sipping neat after a meal, it also pairs beautifully with dry pastries, citrus desserts, dark chocolate, and moments of reflection or conviviality.
