Description

The Barbera d'Alba Superiore of the company L'Astemia is born in vineyards located in the Cuneo municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of the DOC Barbera d'Alba.

It is produced with 100% Barbera grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place, with maceration, in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 15-18 days. Subsequently the wine ages for 12 months in barrique before being bottled.

It has a ruby red color. The nose opens with a complex bouquet of strawberry and ripe plum, cooked pear and hazelnut, enriched with notes of vanilla, licorice and coffee deriving from aging in wood. On the palate it is dry and round, with soft tannins that accompany towards an intense and persistent finish of toasted wood.

Perfect to combine with first courses and stewed meats, it is ideal to accompany red meats cooked on the grill.
