Barolo Riserva DOCG Vigna Elena 2012 Elvio Cogno
Description
Elvio Cogno's Barolo Vigna Elena Riserva is born in vineyards located in the Ravera terroir, in the municipality of Novello.
It is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested by hand during the month of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 30 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for 36 months, and for further 24 months in bottle.
Vigna Elena Riserva is characterized by a bright garnet red color. The nose opens with intense spicy aromas of tobacco, mint and licorice, enriched with pleasant hints of red fruits. On the palate it is enveloping, full and pleasantly warm.
Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce and red meats, it is ideal in combination with game, roasts and aged cheeses.
