Description
Bourgogne Les Verchères is a dry white wine produced by Domaine Maxime Cottenceau in Buxy, in the Côte Chalonnaise area of Burgundy. Made from Chardonnay grapes grown on 45-year-old vines located in the southern part of Montagny, facing north, this wine showcases the producer’s dedication to enhancing the terroir.
The winemaking process includes manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by slow and gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts, partly in new French oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 14 months in the same containers to preserve its purity and expressiveness.
On the nose, you will notice aromas of yellow flowers, citrus zest, fresh ginger, and toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and enveloping, with citrus and white fruit flavors, supported by lively minerality and balanced freshness.
Ideal with river fish or bloomy rind cheeses.
