Description
The Brunello di Montalcino by Leonardo da Vinci is a prestigious wine made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in the vineyards of the Montalcino area. The vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 120 to 650 meters above sea level and have various exposures. The soils are predominantly clayey, rich in shells, and originate from different geological eras.
The grape harvest is done manually, and the vinification occurs with red maceration on the skins for a period of 20-25 days at controlled temperatures up to 24°C. The wine is aged for at least 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by an additional rest period in the bottle for at least 4 months before commercialization.
Visually, it presents a very intense and clear purple-red color, with dense and decisive legs. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of blackberries, currants, and cherries. On the palate, it is powerful, with the strength of the alcohol well balanced by soft tannins and good acidity, offering an enveloping structure and a long persistence.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
