Description

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento di Col d'Orcia was born in the homonymous vineyard located on the Sant'Angelo in Colle hill overlooking the Orcia river, in the heart of the municipality of Montalcino.

It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested only by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for about 20-25 days, with daily pumping over. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for 4 years and for further 2 years in bottle before being released on the market.

Poggio al Vento is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with a large, intense and persistent bouquet, with hints of berries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is elegant, with pleasantly soft and enveloping tannins. The wine has a long, savory and delicately fruity aftertaste.

Perfect to accompany red game meat, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
