Description
Cerasuolo Anfora from Cirelli is produced among the hills of the province of Teramo, using both estate-owned and leased vineyards.
The Montepulciano grapes, which make up this pure Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, are harvested by hand. Fermentation is started by indigenous yeasts and begins with a brief initial maceration on the skins. The process finishes with about 12 months of aging in terracotta amphorae.
Cherry pink in appearance. Its aroma is bright and fruity: reminiscent of wild strawberries, cherries, pomegranate, and a citrus note of blood orange that fades on the finish. On the palate, it's juicy, well-bodied, and refreshingly vibrant.
Pair it with a good Neapolitan pizza.
