Description

La Grande Année is a Champagne produced by the maison Bollinger in the Aÿ region, made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected Crus, including Aÿ, Verzenay, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Chouilly and Cuis. This Champagne represents the authentic expression of the house style, characterized by elegance, depth and a strong territorial identity.

The winemaking process involves the exclusive use of the cuvée with fermentation entirely carried out in barrels, followed by manual remuage and disgorgement. The wine matures under cork for a lengthy period, well beyond the requirements of the denomination, and ages on the lees, developing complexity and finesse. The Brut dosage helps maintain balance and expressive purity.

In the glass it shows a bright golden yellow color. The nose initially reveals notes of fresh citrus and green apple, followed by hints of white peach, apricot and plum, enriched with nuances of fresh almond, breadcrumbs and delicate flowers. On the palate it is structured and balanced, with references to fruit compote and quince, accompanied by a creamy texture and a fine, persistent effervescence.

It pairs elegantly with fish dishes, white meats, refined preparations and medium-aged cheeses.
