Description

This Champagne Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru from Valentin Leflaive comes exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the village of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims, on silty soils resting on chalk with a north-east exposure. The vines, with a significant average age, help to give depth and territorial character to the wine.

The harvest is carried out entirely by hand, followed by fractional pressing to select only the most refined portions; fermentation takes place both in stainless steel and oak barrels, while ageing occurs on the lees for a long period, helping to develop complexity, structure, and balance.

It has a slightly golden color; on the nose it reveals an intense and complex bouquet with notes of red and black fruits such as currant, blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry; on the palate it is generous and elegant, with a perfect balance between freshness and structure and a long finish.

Ideal as an aperitif and paired with delicate dishes such as escargot and refined preparations.
