Champagne Brut AOC La Grande Dame x Yayoi Kusama 2012
Description
Champagne Brut La Grande Dame is the first vintage of the Veuve Clicquot Champagnes and represents the emblem of refinement and elegance that the company aspires to. La Grande Dame is a wine that reflects the intuition of the Grande Dame herself, Madame Clicquot, who in 1825 said: "Our black grapes give the best white wines", referring to Pinot Noir. To this is added a special edition of vintage 2012 curated by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, whose unique, joyful and colorful creation made especially for Veuve Clicquot adorns the La Grande Dame 2012 box and bottle. The opulent flower symbolizes life, love and peace. The polka dots, Yayoi Kusama's signature motifs, are reworked like tiny champagne bubbles to embody La Grande Dame 2012.
It is produced with Pinot Noir (90%) and Chardonnay (10%) grapes, coming from the Grand Cru vineyards located in Reims, in the heart of the Champagne Ardenne region. The Verzenay-Avize union, the two dominant Crus in this blend, best expresses its identity.
La Grand Dame is characterized by a luminous appearance, a shimmering gold color with intense amber reflections and a fine and light perlage. The nose opens with an elegant fruity bouquet, in which pleasant aromas of white peach and bergamot stand out, enriched by delicate notes of nougat and vanilla. On the palate it is pleasantly full-bodied, with a crunchy and silky texture. The wine presents a fresh and generous finish and a great balance.
Perfect to accompany appetizers and aperitifs, it is ideal in combination with dishes based on fish, shellfish, dry desserts and pastries.
