Description
What type of wine is it?
Laurent-Perrier’s Champagne Brut La Cuvée is made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It stands out for its freshness, aromatic finesse and balanced structure. The second fermentation takes place using the Traditional Method, with fermentation in stainless steel and at least 36 months of aging on the lees, which contributes to its defined and measured style.
Where does it come from?
Laurent-Perrier’s La Cuvée comes from the Champagne region in northeastern France. Here the cool climate and chalky soils foster high-quality grapes. The grapes are sourced from several subregions, including the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, areas known for their ability to preserve acidity and develop complex aromas.
How is it made?
Production starts with the manual harvest of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. After white winemaking and fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, the cuvée is composed. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle following the Traditional Method, followed by at least 36 months of aging on the lees, adding depth and complexity to the wine.
Tasting notes
On appearance, Laurent-Perrier’s La Cuvée shows a bright straw yellow, with creamy mousse and fine, persistent perlage. The nose reveals aromas of ripe yellow fruit, Golden apple and peach, along with notes of black cherry and brioche. The palate is fresh and fleshy, with a balance between acidity and softness, ample body and a lingering finish.
Food pairings
This Champagne is a great aperitif and pairs well with fish and shellfish dishes. It’s perfect with fresh oysters and Coquilles Saint-Jacques, enhancing freshness and bubbles. It’s also excellent with a seafood risotto, where the saltiness of the dish is balanced by the wine’s structure.
When to serve it
Laurent-Perrier’s La Cuvée is ready to drink, but thanks to its long aging on the lees it also holds great aging potential. It is recommended to enjoy it within 3–5 years after disgorgement to appreciate its balance and evolved aromas at their best. Suitable for early enjoyment as well as for those who wish to observe its maturation over time.
