Description
The Chassagne-Montrachet by Maison Ropiteau Frères originates in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, sharing with Puligny the prestigious title of homeland of great dry white wines. Here, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir coexist on a mosaic of complex terroirs.
The Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected upon arrival at the winery. Pressing takes place in a pneumatic press to ensure a gentle extraction of the must. The wine ferments and matures in barrels, 20% of which are new, for a period of 10 months on fine lees, with occasional bâtonnage to develop structure and complexity.
It presents a golden color in appearance. On the nose, it expresses aromas of white flowers such as hawthorn, honeysuckle, and acacia. On the palate, it surprises with its mineral attack, followed by a long, rich, and enveloping finish.
Perfect with poultry in sauce, lobster, prawns, Asian dishes, and cheeses like Comté.
