Description
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Victor Berard comes from vineyards located in three municipalities of the appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bédarrides, and Sorgues. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, extend over soils characterized by large pebbles that can store heat during the day and release it to the vines at night, favoring optimal grape ripening.
The grapes are hand-picked at the perfect ripeness and undergo a traditional vinification with a 21-day maceration in concrete tanks. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels, a process that enriches its complexity and softens its tannic structure, giving balance and depth.
Visually, it presents a deep garnet red color. The bouquet is complex and elegant, with notes of red fruit jam and spicy aromas intertwining harmoniously. On the palate, it is broad and rich, with hints of cocoa and toasting, silky tannins, and a long persistence that confers refinement and intensity.
It pairs perfectly with game or red meats.
