Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Gallule by Gagliole is a red wine made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes sourced from Castellina in Chianti. The vineyards, between 20 and 50 years old, lie at 350–400 meters above sea level, with south to southwest exposures, on loamy-clay soils characterized by Pietraforte bedrock.

The grapes are hand-harvested into small crates and vinified in truncated-cone French oak vats, with a 30-day maceration. Ageing continues for 12 months in French oak barriques, 30% new, followed by a further 12 months in French oak casks.

In the glass it shows an intense ruby-red color. On the nose it offers an intense, complex profile, with aromas of cherry and morello cherry, blackberry and raspberry, accompanied by notes of red flowers, orange peel and aromatic herbs.

With its structure and style, it pairs particularly well with roasts, braised dishes, game and aged cheeses.
