Chianti Classico DOCG Granaio 2014 Melini

The Chianti Classico Granaio was born on the splendid hills of Castellina in Chianti, in the Sienese part of the classic area, in the vineyards of Fattorie Melini.

This wine is produced with Sangiovese and complementary grapes, harvested manually starting from the first week of October. The vinification starts at the end of a short cold prefermentative maceration. After fermentation, of about 15 days, the wine is left to evolve in French oak barrels from which it receives a refined harmony and softness.

Il Granaio has an intense and clean ruby red color. The nose is a wine of great complexity, with a strong aroma of berries and ripe grapes, to which frame vanilla and floral notes of iris and violets. On the palate it is decisive, sincere and full-bodied, with a finish enriched with hints of jam and almond.

This Chianti Classico goes perfectly with important dishes such as roasts, grilled red meats and game. Also excellent in combination with well-aged cheeses.
