Description
The Chianti Classico by Monteraponi is produced from vineyards located near the municipality of Radda in Chianti.
It is composed of 95% Sangiovese, with the remaining 5% made up of Colorino. The vines used are 15 years old and are situated at an altitude between 450 and 570 metres above sea level. The soil is rocky, marked by a significant presence of limestone. The grape vinification takes place in vitrified cement tanks, using indigenous yeasts that spontaneously trigger both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. This is followed by 16 months of aging in large oval wooden barrels. A final period of 1 month in cement tanks completes the development of this wine.
Ruby red in colour, it opens on the nose with a broad and alluring bouquet, featuring notes of wild berries, black pepper, and damp earth. On the palate, it is full-bodied and mineral, with velvety tannins and a long, pleasant finish.
Perfect to accompany a plate of pici with ragù sauce.
