Description
What kind of wine it is
Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Collezione Privata by Frescobaldi is a red wine produced in Tuscany, within the renowned area of Chianti Rufina. It comes from a blend led by Sangiovese, accompanied by Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Canaiolo, grapes carefully cultivated in the most historic parcels of the estate. This red stands out for its defined aromatic profile, along with a structure where freshness and complexity find a precise gustatory balance.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this wine come from the Castello di Nipozzano estate, located in the province of Florence. The oldest vines on the property lend the wine a clear and consistent expression of the Chianti Rufina territorial identity. The vineyards' location in the typical Florentine hilly context is reflected in a measured style, naturally combining pleasant freshness with a good structural solidity.
How it is produced
Harvesting involves a rigorous manual picking of the grapes, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. During this phase, the skin maceration lasts for twenty days, extracting color and tannic components. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for twenty-four months in oak barrels and completes its aging with three months' rest in the bottle before release to the market.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color, indicating good visual concentration. The nose opens with aromas of apricot blossom and dog rose, well integrated with elegant vanilla notes resulting from the oak aging. On the palate, the sip is fresh and layered, supported by well-integrated tannins that lead to a clean finish, marked by persistent fruity and spicy notes.
Food pairings
This red wine finds its culinary vocation in pairings with game, as it stands up to preparations of varying intensity. It pairs with delicate meats like quail, woodcock, and partridge, as well as the bolder flavors of fallow deer and venison. Thanks to its lively and balanced tannic texture, it successfully accompanies structured meat-based dishes.
When to serve it
It is the ideal choice to enrich a structured dinner, especially if the menu includes game dishes. The long aging between wood and bottle ensures a harmonious wine, characterized by good aromatic and gustatory integration. It shows its best when you want to bring to the table a red wine capable of offering a complex sip, which maintains an excellent flavor precision from opening through to the lingering finish.
