Description

The Chianti San Lorenzo di Fattorie Melini was born in the splendid vineyards of the Chianti hill. This wine takes its name from a farm in Cipresseta, near the Gaggiano winery.

It is produced with Sangiovese Grosso grapes and complementary grapes, harvested in October. After a prefermentative maceration of 3 or 4 days, the vinification process begins. During the malolactic fermentation the wine undergoes numerous and studied pumping over, before moving on to the evolutionary phase in wooden barrels for a short period.

Chianti San Lorenzo has a lively ruby red color. The nose reaches an immediate and intense aroma of raspberry and blackberry, with floral notes of violet, mammolo and iris. On the palate a wine with the right tannins, a good body and a persistent finish in which sensations of wild fruit and almond jam emerge.

It generally goes well with dishes based on meat sauce, salami and poultry. Also excellent with cheeses such as parmesan and pecorino.
