Description

What kind of wine it is

This white wine from the winery Terra is made from Trebbiano grapes. It shows a straw yellow color and a complex aromatic profile, more layered than a simple, easy-drinking Trebbiano. Its style focuses on aromatic richness and structure on the palate while maintaining freshness. It is a versatile white, suited both as an aperitif and alongside a more structured meal.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from a vineyard in the Colli Martani area, in Umbria, at an altitude of about three hundred and fifty meters above sea level, on silty clay soils. Harvest takes place at the end of September, with grape selection carried out by hand. This care in the vineyard ensures that only the best fruit reaches the cellar, an essential basis for the wine’s aromatic complexity.

How it is made

After careful sorting of the grapes, the must undergoes cryo-maceration for about twelve hours at six degrees, to encourage the extraction of aromatic compounds present in the skins. This is followed by soft pressing and it is vinified as a white wine. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, around sixteen degrees, in stainless steel tanks. Ageing continues for six months in steel, followed by at least one month of rest in bottle before bottling, which takes place in February.

Tasting notes

On sight it appears straw yellow. The nose is complex and rich, with floral notes interwoven with hints of white fruit. On the palate it is saline and round, supported by a good acid backbone that ensures balance. The finish is notable for length and persistence.

Food pairings

This wine pairs well with fish dishes and preparations based on white meats. It also makes an excellent match with delicate risottos and vegetarian dishes, where its salinity balances subtler flavors. It is also a good choice as an aperitif, thanks to its freshness and lingering finish.

When to serve it

It works well both to open the meal and alongside fish or vegetarian courses. A cool serving temperature enhances its freshness and lingering finish, bringing out its aromatic complexity and salinity. It is a fitting choice for convivial occasions that call for a white with character.
