Description
The Friulano from Tenuta Villanova is a white wine made from 100% Friulano grapes cultivated in the Collio area, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The vineyards are located on soils of Eocene origin composed of marl-arenaria flysch, which over time have transformed into the characteristic "ponca," a typical substrate of the region. The grapes are harvested manually to ensure the quality of the grapes collected.
The vinification process involves 90% of the wine maturing in steel in contact with the lees for six months, during which frequent batonnage is carried out. The remaining 10% is aged in oak tonneaux, also with weekly batonnage, to give the wine greater structure and complexity while maintaining its varietal freshness.
In appearance, it presents a deep yellow color. On the nose, it expresses typical aromas of wildflowers enriched with delicate buttery notes. On the palate, it is full, velvety, and well-balanced, with a pleasant almond finish that completes its overall harmony.
It pairs elegantly with fresh cheeses, San Daniele prosciutto, herb omelets, and shellfish such as lobster.
