Description

John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon by Wynns Coonawarra Estate is a Cabernet Sauvignon produced in small quantities in the Australian region of Coonawarra, at the heart of the renowned terra rossa soils. Created as the flagship wine of the winery, it represents a selected and prestigious expression of the area, made from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes available from the estate's vineyards.

The vinification process enhances the quality of the fruit and the identity of Coonawarra Cabernet, with a careful selection of grapes and aging in French oak barriques and casks, partly new and partly previously used, for around fifteen months. This process helps integrate structure, elegance, and complexity without overpowering the wine’s aromatic purity.

In the glass, it shows a deep and intense crimson red color. The nose offers fresh and inviting aromas of red and black cherries, accompanied by notes of dried mint and violet, while on the palate it displays balance, freshness, and power, with well-defined ripe fruit and a fine, harmonious tannic structure.

It pairs elegantly with braised pork with lemon zest, garlic, and sage, served with polenta.
