Cornas AOC 2016 Domaine A. Clape

Cornas from Domaine A. Clape is an icon symbol of the Northern Rhone Syrah, still produced according to the most traditional method.

It is made up of 100% of the most famous and established variety in the area, Syrah, which in this area offers one of the best versions of itself. The harvest is done by hand when the grapes reach the perfect degree of ripeness. The alcoholic fermentation phase takes place inside cement tanks, as well as the malolactic fermentation which softens the tannic hardness. In order to preserve the varietal expression of the fruit, the refinement takes place in large oak barrels already used, so that they have a neutral influence on the aromatic level.

At sight it has an intense ruby red color. The nose opens on spice tones reminiscent of pepper in all its forms, followed by a crunchy red fruit and a slightly balsamic and chocolate texture. The sip is soft, fresh and savory. Closes in a long persistence.
