Description

The Altrovino Tuscan red wine is produced by the Duemani company, a company founded by Elena Celli and Luca D'Attoma, a renowned winemaker. The winery is located in Riparbella, in the south of the province of Pisa, and is a Demeter certified biodynamic company.

The wine is composed equally of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, which are first destemmed. The grapes are vinified separately in concrete vats with pumping over and 20 days of maceration. A part of Cabernet Franc ferments in terracotta amphorae. Once assembled, the wine ages in French oak truncated cone vats for 6 months. It is bottled without undergoing either clarification or filtration.

Deep ruby red in colour, the wine reveals fruity aromas of cherry and blackberry and herbaceous and spicy hints. The sip is medium-bodied, with round tannins and a fairly prolonged finish.

Excellent in combination with pasta with meat sauce and grilled red meats.
