Description

Etna Rosso Prephylloxera from Tenuta delle Terre Nere was born in vineyards located in the municipalities of Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania.

It is produced with Nerello Mascalese grapes and a minimum percentage of Nerello Cappuccio, harvested and selected by hand in the first ten days of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 6-18 months in French oak barrels and tonneaux and for a month in steel, before being marketed.

Prephylloxera has a deep ruby red color with intense mahogany reflections. The nose opens with complex aromas of wild flowers and red fruits, enriched with notes of noble spices. On the palate it is harmonious and elegant, dense and concentrated, with a long and persistent finish.

Ideal in combination with red meats and game, this red goes well with the intense flavor of aged cheeses.
