Description

What kind of wine is it

Ferghettina's Brut is a Franciacorta born from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grown on the hills of Adro in the Brescia area. The winemaking follows the Traditional Method, with a second fermentation in the bottle that gives the wine a fresh and elegant style. This Franciacorta emphasizes aromatic purity and gustatory balance, thanks to a careful production process that starts from the initial grape selection.

Where it comes from

This wine comes to life on the hills of Adro, within the renowned Franciacorta appellation. The viticultural area of Brescia offers the ideal geographic setting where the Ferghettina winery shapes its unique enological identity. The bond with the birthplace is clear in a profile that combines finesse and drinkability, delivering a faithful expression of the Lombard terroir with great expressive continuity.

How it is produced

Production begins with an extremely gentle pressing of whole Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Only the free-run must, the best quality juice from the first pressing, is extracted at this stage and destined for the fermentation tank. The wine rests until the following spring before being bottled for the prise de mousse according to the Traditional Method. This is followed by a 24-month aging on the lees, essential for developing a measured aromatic profile and fine bubbles.

Tasting notes

It appears straw yellow in color, accompanied by a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is marked by clean and precise aromas, with hints of hazelnut and subtle notes of sweet fruit. On the palate, the olfactory sensations are perfectly mirrored, offering a sip sustained by a pleasant freshness that remains constant through to the balanced, clean finish.

Food pairings

This Franciacorta harmoniously pairs with delicate first courses and seafood mains, enhancing dishes with a measured aromatic profile. It is particularly well-suited to accompany raw fish and shellfish, where the wine’s freshness balances the sweetness of the flesh. Its elegant nature makes it a perfect match for seafood risotto or spaghetti allo scoglio, as it keeps the palate clean even with quick-cooked dishes.

When to serve it

Thanks to its fresh taste and fine bubbles, it is an ideal Franciacorta for serving throughout a meal during convivial moments. It is a reliable choice from the start of a dinner, maintaining its expressiveness even during main courses. The long aging on the lees ensures a well-defined style, perfect for those occasions when you desire a wine that combines aromatic elegance and a refreshing finish.
