Description

What kind of wine is it

The Franciacorta Rosé by Bariselli is a Traditional Method sparkling wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, vinified as a rosé. It shows an antique pink color and a fine, persistent perlage. The Brut dosage makes it a dry, fresh rosé with an elegant, approachable profile.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the estate’s vineyards, in two plots located in the municipalities of Erbusco and Provaglio d'Iseo, in Franciacorta. The vineyards are hillside, mostly south-facing. The soils are of pluvio-glacial origin with a predominantly morainic composition, rich in stones, dry, well-exposed and always ventilated: conditions that favor healthy grapes with good ripeness.

How it’s made

The Pinot Noir is hand-harvested between the second and fourth week of August. The grapes are vinified as a rosé with a few hours of cold maceration on the skins followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature, then the base wine rests in tank until the following spring. After secondary fermentation in bottle, the Franciacorta ages at least thirty months in the cellar before riddling, and after disgorgement it rests a further three months before release.

Tasting notes

On sight, the antique pink hue and fine perlage stand out. On the nose, aromas of red berries open up, with a slight toastiness recalling yeast and floral nuances, typical expressions of Pinot Noir. The palate is fresh and harmonious, with the finesse afforded by the long ageing and the Brut dosage.

Food pairings

It’s an excellent aperitif and pairs well with raw fish, salmon and tuna tartare. It also goes well with delicate cold cuts such as prosciutto crudo, with white meats and with first courses featuring shellfish. Its freshness and red-berry notes also make it suitable for fresh cheeses and vegetable dishes.

When to serve it

This is the Franciacorta for elegant aperitifs and toasts, but it can also accompany an entire light meal. It is ideal for special occasions too, thanks to the antique pink color that you appreciate even before tasting.
