Description
What type of wine is it
Ferghettina Brut Satèn is a Franciacorta made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. The winemaking follows the Traditional Method, with the characteristic secondary fermentation in bottle. This wine is distinguished by a creamy and precise style that delivers a harmonious texture and a composed mouthfeel, supported by a subtle effervescence.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this wine come from twenty high-potential vineyards located in six municipalities within Franciacorta. This multi-parcel selection blends the region’s finest expressions to ensure stylistic consistency. The cultivation of Chardonnay aims to achieve a refined and restrained profile, essential for the Satèn style.
How it is made
The harvest takes place between August and early September. Only the free-run must is gently pressed and destined for fermentation. In line with the Traditional Method, aging continues for twenty-four months on the lees. The process concludes with an additional two months of resting following disgorgement, a crucial step for stabilizing the flavor profile.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it has a bright yellow color, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is delicate, with almond notes and pastry sensations that create a clean profile. On the palate, the taste is pleasantly composed and stands out for a subtle effervescence that makes each sip balanced and true to its style.
Food pairings
This Franciacorta pairs harmoniously with raw fish cruditès, sushi, and sashimi, and finds a natural match with shellfish. Its delicate structure makes it suitable to accompany a light, dry seafood fry that enhances its creaminess. It also works well with a variety of delicate Italian preparations, where a clean finish is essential.
When to serve it
It is an excellent choice for an elegant aperitif or to complement light dishes at the table without overpowering them. It is ideal when you seek aromatic finesse and delicate effervescence, especially in convivial settings and with seafood dishes. Serve it well-chilled to fully appreciate its aromatic definition.
