Description

Friuli Colli Orientali Schioppettino from La Tunella winery is born in vineyards located in the heart of the Friulian hills. Thanks to their unmistakable style, La Tunella wines are the perfect expression of the terroir.

It is produced exclusively with Schioppetino grapes, harvested only by hand in the first week of October. After a destemming and soft pressing, the grapes ferment with the indigenous yeasts, remaining in contact with the skins for about 20 days. During this process frequent pumping over is carried out with the aim of obtaining an intense color and the noble components typical of an important red. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for about 3 years, and for a further period in the bottle.

It is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with a decisive and elegant bouquet, with aromas of dried figs and walnuts, enriched with pleasant balsamic notes and delicate nuances of small black berry fruits. On the palate it is velvety, enveloping and pleasantly vigorous. The wine has well blended tannins and a perfect correspondence between the sense of smell and taste.

Perfect as a meditation wine, it is ideal in combination with roasts, red meats and aged cheeses
