Description
Per''E Palummo, also known as Piedirosso, is an indigenous Campanian red grape variety characterized by its red-colored stem, reminiscent of pigeon feet.
This red wine is made entirely from grapes of this variety, coming from vineyards in Faiano and Serrara Fontana, southwest of Ischia. After fermentation with maceration of the whole berries for 5-10 days, it undergoes further aging in the bottle.
It has a beautifully intense ruby red color. On the nose, it is vinous, with delicate hints of wild strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, it is bold and pronounced, yet very smooth.
Ideal with grilled or roasted red meats, it also pairs well with spicy and mature cheeses.
